Lilly is a natural science illustrator currently based in the New York area. She is a lover of all life forms: animals, plants, fungi, protists…you name it! She holds a B.S. from Tufts University in Biopsychology with a minor in Studio Art. Lilly considers herself lucky to have taken courses at the School at the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) in Boston alongside her STEM lectures and lab work throughout college. She recently completed an internship in botanical illustration at the California Botanic Garden, and is currently apprenticing at a tattoo studio in Long Beach, New York.
Lilly was born in New Jersey and raised in Connecticut. She has loved to draw since she was young, and her subjects are almost always from the natural world. If you told that kid that she’d still be drawing plants and animals all these years later, she wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest.
Between growing up on the Long Island Sound, visiting relatives every summer at the Jersey Shore, and exploring southern California, she has always had a deep appreciation for coastal and marine ecosystems. Her greatest love and source of inspiration is the ocean–and all its weird, wonderful creatures.
